Wednesday Trends ~ Stitching

Hi there! It's Jackie and I'm here to host today's Wednesday Trends! One of my very favorite trends in cardmaking is stitching! I started off faux stitching, using a piercing tool and a marker, because I had never sewn a day in my life, but after seeing so many people using actual sewing machines on their cards I got the itch to buy one for myself! I bought a Janome Sew Mini with some Christmas money last year and have never looked back! Now I think I sew on just about every card I make!

For this card I started with this week's Mojo Monday sketch, Mojo 113. I stamped two of the flowers from Polka Dot Blooms in Raspberry Fizz (Papertrey) and Old Olive (SU!). The image was cut out with the Curved Rectangle Nestabilities. I added two adhesive pearls to the centers of the blooms. The sentiment is from another TSG set, Bloom, and was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and cut out with Circle Nestabilities. The Kraft panel behind the main image was embossed with the Swiss Dots embossing folder using my Cuttlebug. I love this clean and fresh color combo...Kraft, Raspberry Fizz and White. Whether you faux stitch or actually machine stitch, it's the perfect finishing touch on a card!

Stamps: Polka Dot Blooms & Bloom (There She Goes)
Paper: Kraft, Raspberry Fizz, White, Polka Dot Basics & In Bloom DP (All Papertrey Ink)
Ink: Raspberry Fizz (PTI), Old Olive (SU!), Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories & Tools: Curved Rectangle & Circle Nestabilities, Raspberry Fizz Satin Ribbon, Adhesive Pearls, Swiss Dots embossing folder, Sewing Machine, Dimensionals
